Private Language Institutes (Hagwon) |
| There are more than 10 types of franchised Private Language Institutes (Hagwons) operating in Korea, and each franchise has between 10~100 branches throughout South Korea. Each Hagwon within a particular franchise has the same or similar contract, curriculum, and text book. The owner and supervisor of the Hagwon¡¯s are experienced in running these types of Language Institutes and in managing the system. The supervisors also all speak fluent English. Therefore all that you will have to do is to familiarize yourself with the textbook and learn/come up with a way of conveying the material to your students. As well as this if you have a good idea about how to improve the curriculum, they will for the most part welcome and accommodate your idea. However it is important to remember that Hagwon¡¯s are businesses, therefore if the business is going badly this may affect your employment there. |
